Operation of MQ-12-Servo and MQ-8-Servo
Upon initiating the cycle start, the mechanically actuated quill rapid advance forward through the servo rapid/feed motor until the feed switch is actuated, at which time the advance rate will be reduced to the desired feed rate. The quill will continue forward until it reaches the full depth limit switch. The servo rapid/feed motor is now reversed and the quill will be retracted to its original starting point. Spindle R.P.M. is controlled by a separate foot-mounted motor driven through a timing belt and sheave system. Spindle motors can be either conventional A.C. fixed R.P.M. or variable R.P.M., providing the customer a wide range of flexibility.
Optional Equipment
The MQ-12 and MQ-8 Mechanical Quill Units can also be supplied with many optional accessories. Some of these are: peck feed controls, rack-out quill assembly, dual feed controls, forward and back feed controls, tapping controls and continuous spindle rotation.
