Standard Features
 
Model 92 is an 11-inch stroke tap unit incorporating our standard 9" quill type unit as the power source, so as to make this unit a completely self-contained hydraulic lead screw tap unit. The lead screw housing mounts directly to the flange of the Drillunit and is the newest concept in high production, low cost lead screw tapping. The lead screw spindle is spline driven to the main drive shaft and will disengage in either direction if an electrical failure occurs. The lead screw nut is spring loaded and will lead backwards instead of the spindle leading forward if a part is presented without first being drilled. All of the units are equipped with a hardened and ground lead screw running in a bronze nut. Both members can be removed and replaced easily for service or when changing from one pitch thread to another. The lead screw portion of the stroke is controlled by means of a standard rotary limit switch with two switch elements. All the units are offered with four (4) optional element switches, with two being used as safety contingency switches. A one H.P. auxiliary motor is standard equipment and used to operate the hydraulic pump which controls the rapid advance portion of the stroke. The main spindle motor drives only the lead screw spindle in and out. The unit is designed for single spindle as well as pin drive multiple spindle head applications. Included also are positive stop, motor mounting brackets, belt guards, sheaves and belts.
