The U5 can change four types of heads, and the 6,000 rpm vertical, right-angle and gimbal contouring heads, with a 50-taper spindle, are designed for aggressive, high-torque machining for hard metals. Automatic head and tool changing allows support for all head types.
The 24,000 rpm gimbal contouring head, with an HSK-A63 spindle, is specially designed for high-speed machining of aluminum and composites. Aftermarket U5 Heads include Vertical, Right-Angle, High-Torque Gimbal and High-Speed Gimbal.
